We are a week away from the 70 year anniversary of Jackie Robinson Breaking Major League Baseball’s Color Barrier.. Ten years ago in 2007 I began a project looking at the decline of African-American Ball players in Major League Baseball where at the time the percentage of Major League Ball players who were African-American was at 8%. Today 10 years later that percentage is still 8%. One of the first ball players who I interviewed for this project was 2nd baseman Brandon Phillips who at the time was with the Cincinnati Reds. Phillips played with Cincinnati all that time since up until this season where he is now in his first season with the Atlanta Braves his hometown team. Ten years later I got up with Brandon again where we discussed many things including the decline. This right here is a clip of our conversation
