Being the son of Cecil Fielder Prince Fielder grew up around the 1996 New York Yankees who won the Franchise’s first World Series championship since 1978. Following Game Two of the American League Championship Series Prince Fielder Spoke with Samori Benjamin about the Tigers commanding two games to none lead after sweeping the first two games in the Bronx . Fielder talks about his first year in Detroit playing for the team that his father became a star with and hit 50 homeruns in 1990. Cecil Fielder’s 50 homeruns season in 1990 was the first time a Major Leaguer had reached that mark since George Foster in 1978. Prince also talks about African-American ball players and more.
